"Boulder" Cast Stone
Bookends

On piers flanking the entry to his 1898 architectural studio in Oak Park, Illinois, Frank Lloyd Wright envisioned two sculptures of a solid, crouching figure of a man, and he turned to sculptor Richard Bock, with whom he frequently collaborated. Wright and Bock felt that the sculpture symbolized the struggle of the oppressed and shackled soul to break its bonds and find self expression. Nichols Bros. Stoneworks was granted a license by The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to produce stone garden vases and statuary designed by Mr. Wright. These pieces are faithfully reproduced from the original designs. Each of this pair of Boulder Bookends is hand cast in reconstituted stone and mounted on a sandstone block, padded on the bottom to protect furniture. Each bookend measures 8" x 5.5" x 5.5" and weighs 9 pounds. Please note that the Boulder Bookends are ONLY available with UPS "GROUND" shipment selection and usually ship in 5-7 Business Days. The bookends can only be purchased for shipment within the continental United States. Gift wrap not available for this item.
