Frank Lloyd Wright Flag Tapestry Throw

Item# WUTHFLAG

The Frank Lloyd Wright Flag Tapestry Throw is adapted from Wright’s proposed July Liberty cover. In 1927, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a series of twelve monthly covers based on seasonal themes for Liberty magazine. When submitted, Liberty judged the covers to be too radical to be published. The presentation drawings were returned to Wright, and they later became the basis for interpretations executed in diverse product design. In 1937, Wright’s proposed July Liberty cover, an elegant abstraction of the American flag, titled “The Flag”, became the only drawing in the series to make its way onto the cover of a nationally distributed publication, “Town and Country” magazine. Developed in association with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the throw measures 48" x 68". 100% cotton. Machine washable and dryable.
