Frank Lloyd Wright Unity Temple Stained Glass

Item# YT8502

The Frank Lloyd Wright Unity Temple Stained Glass features the art glass skylight in Wright's Unity Temple (Oak Park IL 1905-08). Unity Temple is Frank Lloyd Wright’s only surviving public building from his Prairie period. Wright used exposed, poured in place reinforced concrete. Late in his life, Wright remarked: “Unity Temple makes an entirely new architecture — and is the first expression of it. That is my contribution to modern architecture.” On this glass panel, enamel colors are individually applied to a single sheet of glass which is then kiln fired to permanently fuse the enamels to the glass. The glass is then wood framed with matching stand. Ht: 10.5” (27cm). W: 10” (26 cm).
