The Native American sculptural figure Nakomis was designed in 1923 to be positioned at the entry pools to the Community of Nakoma Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin. Wright's original commission was never realized until the clubhouse was recently constructed by Taliesin Architects. The Native American warrior Nakomis is formed in a striking angular rectilinear design. The proud, commanding figure has a fatherly presence as he teaches his son to shoot a bow and arrow. He stands 54” tall.
