The Lemnos Riki Alarm Clock is a quality and convenient companion for the bedside with a traditional built-in light bulb night light. The alarm sound begins with a gentle continuous beep, slowly ascending in volume. Handmade in Japan with a solid beech wood case and glass face, it has a silent clock hand sweeping movement. Riki Watanabe (1911 - 2013) was a pioneer of modern Japanese design, receiving many awards including the Milan Triennale Exhibition Gold Award, the Mainichi Design Award, and the Japanese Medal of Honor with purple ribbon awarded by the Government of Japan. Beginning with manufacturing Buddhist altar fittings, Takata Lemnos started developing clock frames and bodies in the 1970s, with the clock division splitting off into its own company in 1984.
